A Pair of Arrests in the Aftermath of Heathrow Irritant Spray Attack

This incident caused the temporary closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking area.

Two more people are now in custody related to a robbery at Heathrow Airport where over twenty individuals sustained injuries by what is thought to be pepper spray, according to law enforcement.

A 24-year-old man, was taken into custody in Lambeth on suspicion of theft and assault and a woman, 23 was arrested for suspected conspiracy to commit robbery. Both individuals remain in custody, the force said.

The arrests come after an investigation into an attack at the multi-level parking garage at Heathrow's Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the incident, two women were robbed of their suitcases upon exiting a car park lift.

A toddler aged three was among the those hurt in the event. Five people went to hospital for medical care and were later discharged.

Police arrested a man in his thirties for suspected theft and assault near the scene. He was subsequently released pending further inquiries as the investigation proceeds.

Police were called at about 08:10 GMT following reports of a number of individuals hurt by an irritating chemical believed to be an irritant spray.

The assault - an event that police said was a standalone incident and not being treated as an act of terror - resulted in delays to rail services and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking facility for a short time.
